The Stranger Creek Band, (Mary & Garry Bichelmeyer, Gordon Riley, and Marvin Bredemeier) played at Burger King (BK Lounge) last night, Tuesday, Nov 4th. Marvin Gregg will no longer play drums with the band. Alex, Gordon and Doris’ grandson, played drums at BK last night, and we will see where we go from there.
Marvin G. will play with the band on Sat, Nov 8 at American Legion, but that will be the last time. He has a new job playing with a Band in Independence, with guaranteed money. So sorry we will loose Marvin Gregg, but we had him a lot longer than we thought we would.
We had a special guest at BK last night, Kathy Lynn, singer. She was very good. Danny Contreras and Ron Fine also joined the band for a few songs.
It was Jean Hightower’s birthday and Jim’s too. We celebrated with cookies. We also celebrated Gordon and Doris’ 53rd wedding anniversary with cake.
The band thanks everyone for the “tips”. That is the only payment they get for playing every Tuesday night besides an occasional cookie or cake.
Join us at the American Legion this Sat night from 7pm until 11pm. The address is 7500 W 75th, Overland Park, KS. There is a $5 cover charge at the door. Don’t forget to bring snacks to share with everyone.
Last Tuesday at BK Lounge, we had a great crowd. Lots of dancers and a crowded dance floor. The band members were Gordon Riley, Garry & Mary Bichelmeyer, Marvin Gregg, Marvie Bredemeier and Ron Fine.
Guest, Jerome Oberle played the accordion.
We celebrated Jean Rains birthday with cookies. Cid Vaughn brought popcorn for everyone.
Join us next Tuesday, April 30th, at Burger King @ 95th & Quiviria.
