Last few weeks at BK Lounge

Tuesday July 15th, 2014

Mary Bichelmeyer was not able to play due to her recent knee surgery. So Chuck Yates playes base for Mary. The rest of the band was Garry Bichelmeyer, Gordon Riley, Marvin Gregg and Marvin Bredemeier.

Guest singers were Bud Hanoch, Melissa and her daughter Sara, Jerome and Ron Fine.

Tuesday July 22nd, 2014

Again Chuck Yates played base for Mary. The rest of the band was there: Garry Bichelmeyer, Gordon Riley, Marvin Gregg and Marvin Bredemeier.

Anne Little was there after a long absence. She hasn’t changed at all and sang beautifully.

Mary Bichelmeyer was back and played with the band for a little while but got tired and Chuck Yates took over for Mary. Larry Inman joined the band after the break. Good to have him back, even if was

4th of July @ American Legion

The Stranger Creek Band: Mary & Garry Bichelmeyer, Gordon Riley, Kenny Evans, Marvin Gregg and Marvin Bredemeier, played July 4th, Friday afternoon at the American Legion on 75th street in Overland Park, KS.

The room was packed. There were no empty tables.

Jim Rumsey at BK 018A flag was brought out and Jim Rumsey recited Johnny Cash’s Ragged Old Flag with the band softly playing in the background. Very appropriate on the 4th of July holiday. He got a standing ovation.

Thanks to everyone that attended and made this event so successful.

 

Last night at the BK Lounge – 7/1/2014

Larry Dean Inman joined the Stranger Creek Band: Mary & Garry Bichelmeyer, Gordon Riley, Marvin Gregg and Marvin Bredemeier. They played last Tuesday night, July 1st, at the Burger King @ 95th & Quivira.

Guest singers were Chuck & Sandy Parcher and Judy Engle. Jerome Oberle played the accordion. So glad to see him back and getting along better.

The band thanks everyone who donated to the tip bucket. It’s the only payment the band gets for playing every Tuesday night.
